Dr. Nokwanda Philile Zuma - Clinical and Radiation Oncologist | Founder

MBCHB (UKZN), FC RAD ONC (CMSA), MMed (UKZN).
Dr. Nokwanda Philile Zuma is a highly accomplished clinical and radiation oncologist and the founder of Alora Oncology. She obtained her MBCHB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2007, followed by her FC RAD ONC from the College of Medicine South Africa and a Masters in Medicine from UKZN.

She completed the Good Clinical Practice for research program at the University of Stellenbosch and the Interactive Research Methods and Analysis program at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Zuma also received specialized training in Gamma Knife radiotherapy at the Cleveland Clinic.

Throughout her career, she has held key positions at Netcare Olivedale Hospital, Busamed Modderfontein Private Hospital, Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital, and Addington Hospital. Her published research in the South African Medical Journal focuses on anal squamous cell carcinoma and the influence of HIV on cancer presentation and outcomes.

Dr. Zuma is an active member of the South African Medical Association and the College of Medicine South Africa. She is currently establishing a foundation dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare, cancer awareness, and patient support.

Nontando Damane - Practice Manager

Nontando Damane is the Practice Manager at Alora Oncology. She oversees the seamless integration of clinical and administrative functions, from patient intake and scheduling to facility management and regulatory compliance.

Nontando believes that excellent administration is itself a form of patient care. She creates streamlined processes that allow the medical team to focus entirely on patient well-being.

She upholds the strictest standards of confidentiality and ethical practice, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Her collaborative leadership style fosters a culture of open communication and teamwork.

Anita Zoya - Medical Administrator

Anita Zoya is a Medical Administrator at Alora Oncology and is often the first friendly face patients encounter. She holds a Medical Secretary qualification from Boland College.

Anita manages appointments, patient records, and correspondence. She is proficient in medical systems including Elixir Live, MedeMass, HealthOne, and SAP.

She also handles ICD-10 coding and has experience drafting letters of motivation for medical aid and visa applications. Anita is fluent in English, Afrikaans, isiXhosa, and isiZulu, allowing her to connect warmly with patients from all backgrounds.

Thembi Zimu - Medical Administrator

Thembi Zimu is a Medical Administrator at Alora Oncology. She brings warmth, efficiency, and meticulous attention to detail to her role.

Thembi handles patient registration and records with confidentiality and care. She understands that the administrative aspects of healthcare can sometimes feel daunting, and she approaches every task with patience and a genuine desire to alleviate stress.

Thembi works closely with the entire administrative team to ensure the front office operates smoothly and efficiently.

Nontobeko Hadebe - Senior Chemotherapy Nurse

Nontobeko Hadebe is a Senior Chemotherapy Nurse with 18 years of nursing experience. She has worked in various disciplines including Surgical, Medical, Operating Theatre, Accident and Emergency, and Pediatrics before specializing in oncology in 2019. She holds a Diploma in Nursing from Addington Campus.

Nontobeko is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the chemotherapy unit, administering chemotherapy with precision, and vigilantly monitoring patients for adverse reactions.

She is a fierce patient advocate, guided by her personal motto: "Being the nurse I want to have." Her expertise includes advanced cannulation, vascular access, drug dosage calculation, and patient education.

Nandisa Msimango - Chemotherapy Nurse

Nandisa Msimango is a dedicated Chemotherapy Nurse at Alora Oncology. She is proficient in the safe administration of chemotherapy drugs, careful patient monitoring, and the management of treatment-related side effects.

Nandisa understands that for many patients, chemotherapy can be a daunting experience. She approaches each interaction with gentleness, patience, and genuine empathy.

She takes time to explain treatment processes and self-care strategies in clear, accessible language, ensuring that patients and their families fully understand what to expect.
