Cancer Screening
Cancer screening aims to detect cancer at an early stage, often before symptoms appear.
When abnormalities are found early, treatment is more likely to be successful. Screening typically involves tests such as mammography for breast cancer, Pap smears for cervical cancer, colonoscopy for colorectal cancer, low-dose CT for lung cancer, and PSA testing for prostate cancer.
The choice of which screenings are appropriate depends on individual risk factors, including age, family history, and lifestyle. Early detection saves lives, and regular screening remains one of the most powerful tools in cancer prevention and control.
