Gamma Knife Radiosurgery
Gamma Knife radiosurgery is a non-invasive, highly precise radiation therapy technique used to treat small targets in the head and brain. Despite its name, no surgical incision is made.
The device uses advanced imaging and computer software to deliver an intense dose of radiation from approximately 200 converging beams directly to the target area—such as a malignant or benign brain tumor—while sparing surrounding healthy brain tissue.
The procedure is often completed in a single session. Gamma Knife radiosurgery is effective for treating small to medium-sized brain tumors, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), and functional disorders such as trigeminal neuralgia.
