Pain Management
Pain is a common and distressing symptom for many cancer patients. Effective pain management is essential for maintaining quality of life throughout treatment and survivorship.
Cancer pain can be caused by the tumor itself (pressing on nerves, bones, or organs) or as a side effect of treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation.
A dedicated pain management team works closely with patients to develop personalized plans that may include medications (such as non-opioids, opioids, and adjuvant analgesics), interventional procedures (nerve blocks), physical therapy, and psychological support.
The goal is to control or reduce pain to a level that allows patients to function, sleep, and maintain their daily activities.
