Survivorship Programs
Thanks to advances in early detection and treatment, the number of long-term cancer survivors continues to grow. Survivorship programs address the ongoing, unique needs of people living after a cancer diagnosis.
These programs provide structured, long-term follow-up care that includes regular monitoring for recurrence, management of late and long-term side effects of treatment, and support for the physical, emotional, and practical challenges that may persist after active treatment ends.
A survivorship care plan is typically created, summarizing the cancer diagnosis, treatments received, potential late effects, and a schedule for follow-up care.
The goal is to help survivors transition from cancer patient to healthy individual, ensuring they receive the ongoing support necessary to thrive in their post-treatment lives.
